Organized by ARSINOE along with its sister projects TRANSFORMAR, IMPETUS and REGILIENCE, the seminar aims to dissect current challenges, spotlight potential technological breakthroughs, and foster collaborative efforts necessary for developing a robust water management framework. The value of water transcends mere necessity; it is the cornerstone of our ecological, economic, and social well-being. The seminar not only underscores the indispensable role of water but also charts a strategic course towards its sustainable management and resilience in the face of climate variability.
Chaired by Richard Elelman, Head of Politics at Eurecat, this seventh seminar will feature a distinguished panel of experts from our sister projects. These experts will actively participate, sharing valuable insights derived from their extensive experience and the ambitious goals of these initiatives. Richard Elelman, known for his expertise in bridging the worlds of Research and Development with political institutions, specializes in the politics of climate change, energy, and water. His approach strongly emphasizes the importance of citizen engagement and delves into the complex effects of climate change on migration, gender equality, conflict, and health.
Leading the innovative 'CASSANDRA' initiative, which addresses Climate Change, Migration, and Gender Equality, Richard champions an integrated approach that underscores four critical factors for resilience: Data to Action, Source to Sea, the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem-Health Nexus (WEFE+H), and active citizen engagement. By blending modern and traditional management practices, he aims to showcase their significant impact on water management strategies.
